Floor plan

Hello everyone!

Short blog!

Last night I got to working my butt off I tell ya but I love it! I love, love, love making 3D designs for my clients. It allows my clients to see my vision for their space and it also allows me to be as creative or simple as I want from all my clients notes.

The apartment you see here is a good friend and client of mine. She just moved into this lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with her and her two daughters. I constructed this layout from memory because I don't have the original floor plan. I'm excited to have Regina come over today to take a look at this for the first time.

A layout gives an idea of where things can possibly fit in the rooms. We can always subtract or add to the design at any time. Having tools like these are essential to all interior designers. If for any reason lets say that I was unable to make it to a client but my assist could. I could simply email him or her the floor plan idea and they could get started right away. Although that would never happen it's always good backup.

Take a look at some of the ideas I have for Regina's apartment.

Regina expressed to me how much she would like a desk in her room to do work. Keep in mind this is only an idea of where things would go. Regina also loves earth tones but has a love for colors. I wanted an assortment of spa temperatures in her room. Throughout the apartment the carpet is brown I really wanted to work around the brown in search for a balance between floor and walls.

The two little ones share a room which is perfect for sisters. My color choices came from items Regina has for her daughters already. I wanted the girls to have a work desk in their room, a place to do homework and research. I also add a bookshelf in the room to encourage reading in every room of the house.

This is the guest bathroom across from the girls room. I didn't want it to look like a little girls bathroom instead I wanted to give it a guest bathroom look. This bathroom will be used by all Regina's guest including her daughters. I wanted to open up the bathroom for all guest and by the way so far the little that I've done to this bathroom which it is a totally different design from this design...The..... girls.... LOVE..... it! They feel like big girls. I will show pictures in a later blog.

I was just having fun with this design because I've already started on her bathroom. The original design which will stay is based on a number of things. I added rocks and crystals to this bathroom for peaceful energy and cleansing. Regina expressed to me that this place means a new start for her and the girls. When they walk in this bathroom I want them to feel like they're not only at home but at a peaceful getaway. The color choices are white, wicker, glass and grey. Pictures coming soon!

So many pictures and so little time to share them all with you. Please take a look a the 3D floor plan and check out the rest of the apartment. I will be updating this blog with a new blog at a later date once the apartment is complete.
