Spray Painted Faux Leather Pillows

Hello everyone!

Last night while working I was trying to figure out how to make this faux leather 24inch decor pillow pop. For this bedroom scene for  Mary "Honey B" Morrison Presents: Single Husbands stage play I have designed a royal romantic bedroom look using faux leather, gold and royal blue. After purchasing the pillow I came home and was bored with the simple brown color. I really wanted this bedroom to stand out from the others and give personality to the characters's bed in each scene. I then decided to spray on a metallic gold strip with a break in the middle (H). After spraying I was nervous but excited to pill of the tape and see what greatness I made or mess. It turned out to be more than what I expected it to be in a good way.
Trying something new for the first time always makes me nervous. Especially something like this because I've never spray painted a pillow before and to think that I would start on someone else dime is unheard of from me. However, I trust myself and my talents enough to take a risk and celebrate my success or fix a mistake and then celebrate. Thank goodness these pillows were fux leather from font to back which would've given me a new slat if I were to mess up one side. I can't wait to explore in the future with more fux leather spray painting using stencils and free hand.

Fall décor

Hello everyone!!

Are you a seasonal decorator? If so I'm sure you've checked out all the latest decorative ideas for the fall. I came across some great home decor in one of my favorites Zgallerie http://www.zgallerie.com. We all know that the color orange isn't just for halloween...it's an all year around color. Most but not all furniture stores are into seasonal or holiday decorating. Most high end stores have very few selections of colors for seasons. Rest assure if you're looking for a particular color during the year it's most likely that you won't walk away empty handed at Zgallerie.

Take a look at the photos below and check out just a few great ideas that they have to offer. Now if you know like I know the best time to do any shopping is when the seasons are over. The stores are rushing to get these items of the shelves to make room for the next season. Zgallerie at Atlantic Station normally have just a small section of times on clearance which are most likely things you don't need. However if you catch a great sale here then you've found some gold. Don't be surprised at their prices if you're not familiar with their brand. However be inspired to have a little patience with them because you will find a great sale. Always check with their website, there you will find many times on clearance that you won't find in the store.

I am not a big fan of seasonal decorations and such but I do love to have a little corner here and there to display the changing of the seasons. I love white you can't go wrong with white and a hint of a seasonal color here and there. It gets very expensive to shop for seasons and that's why all of our grandparents and parents pull out that box in the basement with all the decor stuff from many years ago. Shopaholics shop all year long and just have to have the latest trending decor I have many of those types of friends. However a smart shopper will careful pick our pattens that will never go out of style.

A good decorator or hiring a good decorator can make your space look like fall without adding one leaf, pumpkin or the color orange. It's more simple than one may think that it is. A mixer of textiles and shapes can set the mood for an all year long beautiful setup. Don't be to fooled by the tv commercials and such. When purchasing items think of it as lasting a lifetime...No one likes to buy the same thing over and over again like we do with birthday party decorations. Decorating a home is much more expensive then purchasing decorations for graduations and birthday parties. Your home is much more meaningful and delicate than that when it comes to your pockets.

If you fall in love with a design do some homework and see if it's a design that they bring back each year. That way you don't feel obligated to purchase that year. It also comes in handy for if and when something breaks or accidentally get a splash of bleach on it you can go right back to the store and replace your item. Be kind to your pockets and your home when decorating because it is easy to get bored with your purchases and quick to feel regretful.

Add some neutral colors to your fall like greens and wicker. If you'er a lover of natural colors don't get to caught up with a bunch of browns, greens and dark woods. Add some brighter elements to your style and soften up some of that outdoorsy feeling that will soon consume your space.
